The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangladesh has instructed ambassadors and high commissioners stationed in seven countries, including the United States and Russia, to return to Dhaka immediately.
Aside from the ambassadors in the United States and Russia, those representing Bangladesh in Saudi Arabia, Japan, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, and the Maldives have also been ordered to return to the country.
On Wednesday, August 14th, Dr. Salahuddin Ahmed, Director General of the Administration Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, signed a notification that was subsequently shared with the media.
According to the notification, Ambassador Muhammad Imran in Washington, Ambassador Kamrul Hasan in Russia, Ambassador Javed Patwari in Saudi Arabia, Ambassador Salahuddin Ahmed in Japan, and Ambassador Musharraf Hussain in Germany have all been instructed to return to Bangladesh and report back to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka immediately.
A separate notification specifies that these diplomats have been transferred to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka, and they are required to leave their current posts and return to Dhaka without delay.
