Biden’s controversial ceasefire plan while honoring war criminal Netanyahu

By Latheef Farook

Within 48 hours after Israel bombed and burnt alive Palestinian men, women, aged and even babies, some beheaded , in their plastic tents, the US President Joe Biden announced on Friday 31 May that Israel has proposed new “ enduring” ceasefire for Gaza in exchange for the release of all remaining hostages by Hamas.

In the midst of Israeli barbarity on Palestinians, deprived of water, food, medicine, electricity, health services and almost everything besides being pushed from camp to camp since October 8, this announcement by Biden was shocking .Because he was the one who supplied deadliest weapons to kill Palestinians and destroyed Gaza besides vetoing three times United Nations Security Council resolutions calling for ceasefire.

Thus Biden, who buried the world order in Gaza, remains soaked in Palestinian blood.

During a news conference at the White House on Friday Mzay 31 Biden said the proposal involves three phases, with the first being a ceasefire of six weeks. During this period, Israeli forces would withdraw from Gaza and hostages, including elderly and women, would be exchanged for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners who would be returned to the enclave. Some 600 trucks of aid would also be allowed into Gaza every day, Biden said.

The second phase would also be about six weeks long.. Hamas would release all remaining hostages, including male soldiers, while Israel would withdraw from all of Gaza and commit to a lasting truly thought of peace. sticking to its side of the bargain

The third phase would examine a massive reconstruction plan for Gaza.

Calling on Hamas to agree to the offer,Biden said that ”everyone who wants peace now must work to make it real. He repeatedly made clear he was aware there would be considerable resistance to it from the Israeli right, including the hard-right members of the governing coalition, and he addressed a substantial part of his remarks to them.

“They made it clear they want to occupy Gaza. They want to keep fighting for years, and the hostages are not a priority for them,” Biden said

Hamas said it regards Biden’s ceasefire proposal “positively”, raising hopes of a halt to Israel’s eight-month war that has killed more than 36,000 Palestinians – mostly children and women. Hamas said this deal is an opportunity to prove whether they really mean it.

However has this wisdom dawned on Biden and Israeli war mongers few months ago many innocent Palestinians lives , destruction and sufferings could have been averted.

The very purpose of this well planned and coordinated on going genocide in Gaza was to drive out Palestinians, annex Gaza with Israel, create Greater Israel and destabilize the entire region for generations to come.

This is the reason why many suspect this sudden peace overtures. Some asked whether Israel has lost the war? The others said perhaps retreating and buying time to fight another day and finish the job .The realisation that Hamas which represents the oppressed, brutalized and slaughtered Palestinians who were the sons and daughters of Gaza cannot be defeated.

Speaking to Al Jazeera Palestinian political analyst Nour Odeh said the proposal does not appear to be different “in any fundamental way” from those that have been previously presented. What was striking, however, is that Biden “put himself on the line”,

“He said the US would guarantee that Israel keeps its end of the bargain so long as the mediators can bring Hamas to accept the deal and keep up its end of the bargain,” .“This is the first time we hear from the president of the United States, the most important ally of Israel, saying, ‘This deal is on the table, it’s good and everybody should take it.’ And I think it will be difficult for Hamas to resist the kind of pressure that will be applied on it, no doubt.”

Israel’s ultra nationalist ministers such as Ben-Gvir and Smotrich threatened to leave the coalition and topple the government if Netanyahu enters a Gaza ceasefire deal that would entail ending the war without the elimination of the Hamas movement.

However Netanyahu said that Hamas’s destruction was part of an Israeli plan presented by US President Joe Biden to end the war on Gaza.”Israel will continue to insist these conditions are met before a permanent ceasefire is put in place. The notion that Israel will agree to a permanent ceasefire before these conditions are fulfilled is a non-starter,” Netanyahu said.

Meanwhile, in one of the most shameful developments showing the iron Jewish grip on US politics, US House Speaker Mike Johnson formally invited Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress, with the backing of all three of his fellow Congressional leaders. Instead of honoring ,Netanyahu need to be ostracized and tried in a Nuremberg type court for his war crimes and crimes against humanity.

US Senator Bernie Sanders rebuked the invitation, saying it is a very sad day for our country that Netanyahu has been invited to address a joint meeting of the United States Congress. Netanyahu is a war criminal,” he said .

Demonstrating the disgraceful state of affairs of Muslims in the Middle East it It was on this very same Jewish controlled US that Arab dictators such as Saudi Arabia,Egypt,Jordan,UAE and others depend for their survival.

At least 36,379 Palestinians have been killed and 82,407 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza since October 7.At least 370,000 housing units in Gaza have been damaged, including 79,000 destroyed completely along with commercial buildings. After previous Israel-Hamas conflicts, housing was rebuilt at a rate of 992 units a year.

Meanwhile UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grand warned of new Palestinian exodus as the ongoing conflict has led to the largest forced displacement in Gaza since 1948. He urged the Security Council to prevent “another forced exodus of Palestinians. Already more than 1.8 million Gazans were driven out from their homes, the largest forced displacement of Palestinians since 1948, according to the UN.
