Shia Ulema hold special meeting in Delhi to express support for Palestine

In a gathering of the Shia Ulema Assembly, the quarterly session convened at Jamia Ahl Bayt in Okhla, Delhi, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. The assembly brought together elected members of the Majlis Khas from various regions across India, including Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Jammu and Kashmir, and Uttar Pradesh.

The session commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Maulana Syed Namdar Abbas Sahib. Under the leadership of the meeting’s president, discussions centered around the primary agenda, emphasizing the importance of the gathering and the key issues at hand.

One of the noteworthy aspects of the assembly was the focus on provincial representation. Elected members selected one to three representatives from prominent cities across the country with significant Shia populations. These representatives aimed to introduce the Shia Ulema Assembly and elucidate its objectives and goals to the general public.

A prevalent theme during this special assembly was the resolute defense of their homeland. The Shia Ulema Assembly voiced its support for the oppressed Palestinian people, particularly lauding the valiant efforts of organizations such as Hamas in their ongoing struggle against the oppressive Israeli government.

In a show of solidarity and commitment, a video was released during the session, explicitly condemning the actions of Israel and offering fervent prayers for the ultimate success of the Palestinian people in their fight against oppression.
